More support from partners will enable Ukraine to turn tide of war and defeat Russia – Podolyak

More assistance from partners will enable Ukraine to turn the tide of the war and defeat Russia.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, said this in an interview with The Hill, Ukrinform reports, referring to the president’s press service.

In particular, Podolyak noted that Ukraine will be able to defeat the aggressor with the help of modern weapons from partners, which will significantly increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces, but Russia will try to prevent such a development by provoking crises in Europe.

Dmytro Kuleba, Minister for Foreign Affairs

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Dmytro Kuleba, considers long war fatigue inevitable, while remaining positive that both Ukrainians and their partners are capable of overcoming it. In an interview with Ukrinform, he also provided, in our opinion, massively convincing proof of his belief in Ukraine’s victory.

Also, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy spoke of why Ukraine has not yet severed relations with Belarus, whether there is a "Spartz factor" in Ukrainian-American relations, what obstacles will have to be tackled to create a Special Tribunal for probing Russian leadership, whether Hungary is the Kremlin's "fifth column," and whether the rumors are true that Iryna Venediktova could become Ukraine’s Ambassador of Switzerland.

Dan Rice, Special Advisor to CinC Valeriy Zaluzhnyi

Dan Rice, a U.S. combat veteran and Special Advisor to Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, has recently returned from a trip to the Donbas warzone where he had gone to observe the current battlefield and assess Ukraine’s needs to win the war, unjustifiably unleashed by Russia.

The expert spoke with Ukrinform, for the second time this year, to offer his view of the latest developments, share his opinion on recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, and reflect on what needs to be done by allies and partners of Ukraine to put the brutal war to an end, sealing Ukraine’s win on the battlefield.

Yuliia Ovsiannikova, Ukrinform photographer, member of the Bucha voluntary association of territorial community

She is the most graceful photographer in Kyiv. When (even before the invasion) Yuliia appeared at some joint photo shoot, she unwittingly drew the attention of the professional community to herself. Just like the most unpredictable photographer.

Unlike the professional path from a model who is photographed to a photographer who does her own make-up and shoots seems familiar to girls from the fashion industry, the path of a model, a photojournalist of a state-owned agency, and a warrior and soldier of the Bucha voluntary association of territorial community, where Yuliia serves now, looks exotic.

However, our Ukrainian Armed Forces, wherever you look, is full of incredible destinies and turns of life.

Oleksandr Pavlyuk, Lieutenant General of Ukraine's Armed Forces, Hero of Ukraine

Donbas. A hot and tragic August 2014. Back then, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were going through not the best times. Under the slogans of many politicians that we have no enemies and we do not need a powerful army, the best military equipment was sold out, and combat units were reduced. Consciously or unconsciously, the army was being brought to a non-combat-ready state.

But despite all that, professionals remained in the ranks and they did everything to preserve the equipment and save the military collectives and combat traditions. You could count on them in the most difficult moment, and it was they who preserved that spirit, the moral strength that enabled us to resist the Russian army for eight years and force the "world's second army" to retreat even after the beginning of an all-out invasion.

Arvydas Anušauskas, Minister of Defense of Lithuania

The conversation with Minister of Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas took place on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day which was rather symbolic as Lithuania is one of Ukraine’s closest allies amid the war.

The Lithuanian minister spoke not only about military issues but also revealed informative historical insights which is natural since Anušauskas is a historian by profession, specializing in studies of the activities of the Soviet special services. Here is another symbolic coincidence. After all, such knowledge is very relevant at a time when Ukraine, Europe, and the world are threatened by a country with power seized by KGB alumni.

Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s (CDP) response to this crisis is focused on humanitarian needs that arise, particularly among internally displaced peoples (IDPs) and refugees. We are not looking at the conflict itself except for how it affects population movement and humanitarian needs. To that end, this profile is not providing detailed updates about the status of the war as we believe that is better done by news media.
